History Making Legislation to Protect Innocent Children From Sex Trafficking and Abuse.

The Frederick Douglass Trafficking Victims Prevention and Protection Reauthorization Act of 2021 (H.R. 5150) (TVPA), sponsored by Representative Chris Smith (R-NJ) and Representative Karen Bass (D-CA) is legislation which now includes a mandate on sex trafficking prevention education for students K-12 for the first time! This would provide funding for schools to institute our train-the-trainer model and curriculum to save young lives! Click here to download a quick fact sheet about the TVPA.
Another piece of legislation in the U.S. Congress is entitled the Human Trafficking and Exploitation Prevention Training Act of 2021. The Senate version of S. 2136 is sponsored by Senator Murkowski (R) and Senator Smith (D). The House version of this bill is sponsored by Representative Buchanan (R) and Representative Wasserman-Schultz (D), (H.R.4989).
